A&G Tax Consulting

UK–Spain tax advice

Spanish tax advice for a move from the UK, retirement in Spain or ownership of Spanish property while non-resident. We review the actual arrangement and tax period before recommending next steps.

Who the service is for

A move to Spain with UK income, pensions or property

UK-connected individuals, retirees, families and property owners. Whether you are moving to Spain, already resident or keeping a Spanish property while living abroad, the agreed review distinguishes residence, income and asset-reporting questions.

What we can review

Relocation and continuing UK income

Review your move, homes and work pattern alongside UK rental income, investments and ongoing activities. Becoming Spanish resident does not by itself settle every UK obligation or treaty question.

State Pension, other pensions and SIPP

Separate State Pension, public-service pensions, occupational pensions and SIPP arrangements. Payment form, scheme terms and the treaty are reviewed individually; lump sums are not assumed to have the same treatment as regular payments.

ISA and investments

A UK ISA can retain UK relief under its own rules, but this does not establish a Spanish exemption. We review the assets, income and disposals under the Spanish rules relevant to your position.

Spanish property while non-resident

Review ownership, periods of use, rental income or a planned sale and the Spanish filing questions that may follow. The service can include a specific compliance task only when it is expressly agreed.

Documents after engagement

The final list depends on the work contracted. Do not send sensitive documents with your initial enquiry; we agree a suitable secure channel after confirming the engagement.

  • Residence and travel timeline, homes and relevant work arrangements.
  • State Pension or other pension statements, SIPP terms and distribution or lump-sum details.
  • ISA and investment statements identifying holdings, income and disposals relevant to the review.
  • Spanish property records and relevant UK tax or withholding certificates, after engagement through the agreed channel.

Individual analysis

UK tax relief, a tax-free lump sum or an ISA label is not a promise of the same Spanish treatment. UK returns and UK-regulated financial advice are not included in A&G's Spanish tax advice. Coordination with your UK professional requires your authorisation.

Questions before starting

Does an ISA remain tax-free for Spanish purposes?

UK ISA relief does not itself establish a Spanish exemption. The investments, income, disposals and your residence need a Spanish review. UK rules about retaining or contributing to an ISA after moving abroad are a separate question.

Is a UK tax-free pension lump sum also exempt in Spain?

Do not assume that UK treatment carries across. The scheme, type of benefit, payment and residence period must be identified before examining the relevant treaty and Spanish rules. This page is not a basis for choosing a withdrawal date.

Can you review a Spanish property if I remain UK resident?

Yes, a defined Spanish non-resident property question can be proposed, including use, rental or a planned sale. Any filing or representation task must be expressly included; a general enquiry does not by itself commission a tax return.

Will tax paid in the UK always be deducted in Spain?

Not automatically. The income, treaty position, taxes paid, applicable limits and procedures need to be checked. The review should distinguish where each obligation arises and what supporting evidence is required.

What should I send with my first enquiry?

Provide a short description of the issue, the countries involved and any relevant deadline. Do not send pension statements, tax returns or identity documents through the public form. We agree a secure channel and the necessary records after confirming the engagement.

Scope and working method

A written proposal before work begins.

An initial enquiry assesses whether we can assist; it is not a professional tax opinion. A one-off engagement is possible without a monthly subscription.

What you receive

The proposal defines the deliverables. Depending on the work contracted, these may include a written report, reasoned conclusions and legal references, Spanish tax obligations and a timetable within scope. Simulations require an express agreement and sufficient reliable data; they are not automatically included in every consultation.

Scope and fees

We provide an individual quote before starting. Quoted fees include applicable indirect taxes. Payment is made in advance by bank transfer. Additional services are quoted and agreed before they are performed. No payment is collected on this website.

Communication in writing

Communication and professional advice are provided in writing. Telephone or video calls take place only when expressly included in the proposal. A translated page does not promise oral service in that language; the working language is agreed before engagement.

What is not automatically included

Tax returns, representation, ongoing compliance and external professionals are included only if expressly agreed. A&G provides the agreed Spanish advice; foreign-law advice and filings require the appropriate professional. Coordination with your existing adviser requires your authorisation.
